State approval won for south India box terminal in Kerela

A PROPOSED container terminal at the Port of Vizhinjam, in the Indian state of Kerala, has won government approval, reports SteelGuru, a Delhi area industry news site.

A consortium led by the Hyderabad-based Lanco Kondappally company, which includes Lanco Infratech and Pembinan Redzai of Malaysia, plans three phases of building and an overall cost of INR54 billion (US$1.28 billion).



The Indian government created Vizhinjam International Seaport Limited to coordinate the execution of the project.
